
Advocating for Safe Corridors to Darfur and South Kordofan

Continuing its advocacy for war-affected communities, One Community for Peace and Development (OCPD) participated in a pivotal meeting on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, with the Office of the UN Special Envoy to Sudan, held at the SUDO Organization headquarters in Port Sudan.
Urgent Issues on the Table The meeting brought together key civil society organizations to address the complex humanitarian reality. Discussions focused on:
- Access Constraints: CSOs detailed the severe challenges hindering aid delivery to stricken areas, specifically in the Darfur region and South Kordofan State.
- Safe Corridors: Participants urgently demanded the establishment of safe and sustainable humanitarian corridors to save lives in besieged areas.
- Civic Space: Highlighting the risks and restrictions facing civil society actors during the conflict.
UN Commitment The meeting also addressed pathways to stop the war and restore peace. On their part, the Office of the Special Envoy affirmed their full commitment to supporting all efforts aimed at ending the conflict in Sudan and facilitating humanitarian action.
