About the Campaign:
The campaign runs for six consecutive days across the organization’s official accounts, delivering intensive daily content that reflects the Sudanese reality in a simple and direct tone. It seeks to correct misconceptions that fuel division—starting with highlighting “fear” as a hidden driver behind racism, raising awareness about the dangers of irresponsible sharing of rumors, and clearly distinguishing between “freedom of expression” and “incitement.”
The campaign also places special emphasis on humanizing the issues of displaced and migrant communities, reminding society that those affected by war are families and individuals seeking safety—people who need compassion and inclusion rather than exclusion.
A Word is the First Step… But the Goal is Bigger:
Believing that real change goes beyond ending online disputes, One Community sees the #KindSpeech campaign as a starting point and a strategic lead-in to a larger on-the-ground initiative.
These six days aim to prepare public opinion in Sudan for a shift “from screen to street.” The campaign will culminate in the announcement of a major community development project focused on creating safe spaces for direct dialogue, conflict resolution, and reviving the positive culture of “community conversations” that has long helped Sudanese society navigate crises.
