As part of its advocacy efforts for a peaceful resolution, One Community for Peace and Development (OCPD) participated in a significant meeting on Friday, March 28, 2025, with H.E. Ambassador Lawrence Korbandy, the IGAD Special Envoy to Sudan, held at the African Organization headquarters in Kampala.

Key Discussions The meeting addressed critical issues regarding the war and peace process in Sudan. OCPD’s delegation emphasized the following core points:

  1. Role of Civil Society: Highlighting that civil society is an indispensable partner in achieving any sustainable peace.
  2. Humanitarian Corridors: Stressing the urgent need to open safe humanitarian corridors to support war-affected populations.
  3. Unifying Efforts: Calling for unified action among civil society organizations to effectively contribute to ending the war and fostering stability.
